Fellowship Guidelines
Welcome to the ASPIRE Fellowship Program. Below are the comprehensive guidelines for Outpatient Department (OPD) and Operating Theater (OT) conduct to ensure smooth operations and optimal learning.
OPD Guidelines

Timing
Be present in OPD between 10:00–10:30 a.m. sharp.

Patient Examination
- Do not give any opinion on whether surgery is required.
- Only examine the patient and write your findings. Wait for the consultant’s decision.
- If you feel an X-ray is strongly required, you may prescribe it.

Female Patients
Always keep a female attendant present during examination to ensure patient comfort and proper protocol.

Dress Code
- Strict formal dress is mandatory.
- No casual clothes or slippers.
- Maintain proper grooming (clean shave if possible).
OT Guidelines

OT Schedule
- The OT time and hospital will be shared a day prior.
- Reach 15 minutes before the anesthesia time.

Pre-Surgery Checks
- Verify patient’s blood tests and MRI one day prior.
- If any abnormal result is found, inform the consultant/anesthetist immediately.
- Examine the local operative site for marks, infection, or skin issues and inform the consultant before anesthesia.

In the Operating Room
- Maintain strict aseptic precautions. Proper scrub and hand wash is mandatory.
- Do not touch sterile/aseptic areas unnecessarily.
- If you are not scrubbed, observe only from a distance, outside the operating field.

Record Maintenance
- Maintain proper surgery records.
- For rare/important cases, collect: Clinical images, MRI and X-ray images, Intraoperative videos.
- At the end of each week, submit all data in a pen drive to the consultant.
